About Me
Hello. I’m Kerry Nesbit—owner and sole
employee of Kerry Nesbit, Incorporated.
I started Kerry Nesbit, Incorporated, as a writing and graphic design business in
1983 after three years as a writer-editor-photographer for an
insurance company.
As you can see from my résumé, I
have a master’s degree in journalism and business and a bachelor’s
degree in radio, television and motion pictures—both from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While
in graduate school, I studied marketing and advertising in the
UNC School of Business. I wrote my master's
thesis on how words and images work together in print.
Professional Services Marketing
I specialize in professional services marketing, serving as writer, designer and marketing
communications counsel to a number of veterinarians, lawyers, educators and health care providers, including:
- 4.5 years with Lexington (NC) Memorial Hospital
- Four years with NAMI North Carolina, the state affiliate for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill
- Three years' work with a 95-attorney
law firm, Petree Stockton & Robinson
- Two years' work with Chancellor Cleon Thompson at historically black Winston-Salem State University
To help veterinarians and lawyers build their practices by branding their services more effectively, I created LogosForLawyer.com and VeterinaryLogos.com.
Product Packaging
From 1995 through 2007, I provided graphic design, copy writing and product photography services for a condiment manufacturer, creating labels, brand logos, neckbands, hangtags and shipping boxes. I also wrote and designed sales collateral, trade show displays and the company web site. From 2004 through 2006, I designed all packaging for a wild seafood wholesaler.
Fund-Raising Materials
My client of longest standing was Robert Moore Allen, a fund-raising consultant for whom I wrote capital campaign case statements and annual fund solicitations for churches, schools and colleges from 1983 through 2008, when Mr. Allen retired. |
